Maths tutoring I can’t say enough good things about Henry. My daughter Megan had a real lack of confidence in maths, but after the first visit to HD tuition this started to change. The way in which he explained things changed Megan’s whole outlook on maths. My son even attended for a couple of weeks for some confidence before his SATs, and again, he was genuinely excited at how easy Henry made it. From the initial booking in process with Chloe everything was really smooth and the payment schedule was easy to understand. The small group sessions were perfect for our daughter, she enjoyed using the iPads and was able to easily see where she was going wrong with Henry's corrections and discussions. She also agreed she'd like to attend a one day session during the Easter break for one of her weaker sciences which she also found really helpful. Henry’s approach to teaching is fun and interactive, he explains methods in maths in a way she could clearly understand. Our daughter’s confidence and knowledge in maths grew. Chloe was excellent at managing the booking process and liaising with me along the way My daughter absolutely loved attending the sessions each week and not once did she complain about going. She particularly enjoyed the way in which Henry teaches maths, ensuring each session was enjoyable, tailored to her needs and not too overbearing. The hot chocolate break also helped immensely ! As well as weekly sessions the exam revision sessions offered by Henry were a great top up. My daughters eventual GCSE result of grade 7 was fantastic especially after school had predicted a grade 4. He desperately wanted to get that 4! He started tuition on Sunday mornings for the last couple of months before GCSE'S. He was reluctant to do it initially (maths tuition on a weekend wasn't appealing to him!) but from the first session he came out and said he actually enjoyed it and was looking forward to going back!! Henry quickly saw how my daughter needed to be taught and straight away she started to understand maths better than she had previously. Of course, the aim was to help him get through his Maths and English exams and secure his place at college, which he did, but for me, the biggest transformation was in his confidence. They didn’t just tutor him, they helped him believe that he could do it, and that made such a difference. Jules supported him with both English Language and Literature and was wonderfully patient, encouraging and supportive. Henry took care of Maths and, quite frankly, (in my sons words) what a legend! He managed to make something my son had found daunting feel achievable, building his confidence alongside his ability. And then there’s Chloe, who somehow keeps the whole thing running beautifully, making the entire process feel organised, supportive and genuinely personal. Between them, Chloe, Jules and Henry were a superb trio and I’m incredibly grateful to all three of them. They helped get my son over that GCSE finish line and onto the next chapter at college. But, more importantly, they sent him there with far more confidence in himself than he had when he started. He was pretty reluctant to go to the taster session with Henry but he came out beaming after 1 hour and I immediately signed him up. The tutors are brilliant. Jayden used to really struggle with Maths, but now he’s flying! He also didn’t enjoy Science before, but since starting science tuition, he’s far more engaged and even enjoys it now. Carrie Sealy25 August 2025My daughter is just going into Yr11. She is autistic and attends a specialist school. In Yr6, she was not entered for SATs, and we were told right up until the end of primary school, by teachers who had no belief in her, that she probably wouldn't get any qualifications. In Yr8, she started to do functional skills in core subjects, and has achieved at least L1 functional skills in them all. A year ago, she suddenly accelerated and it was decided she might get GCSEs, so the school pushed things on a bit and by summer term in Yr10 it was decided she would be entered for GCSEs in all core subjects. That is where HD Tuition came in. My daughter hasn't had the same preparation as other children, as the decision to enter her for GCSEs has come late, because her education is very needs-led. I found HD tuition and booked my daughter in for a trial. They made an assessment of what she needs and a plan based on that. As she is autistic, relationships with teachers are really important to successful learning, and that can sometimes take time. However, she immediately took to Stu, the science tutor, who has been flexible to how she learns. Similarly with Henry: he is so patient and kind, and she has really found herself able to access his teaching. She has 1 to 1 for science and is in a small group for maths, and this is really helpful to her. She has only done a few weeks with them so far, but it was already making a difference to her attitude in relation to whether she will achieve what she has been told she can achieve. I do think the tutoring will help her to secure the grades, but for her it is more about confidence and exam preparation. We were concerned that he would not be keen to go but his tutors made the lesson really enjoyable and he went without fuss even on a Friday afternoon. Is tuition weekly or flexible?
Our tuition memberships requires weekly attendance (term time, until exams).
Year 11s can also book targeted GCSE workshops in Feb, Easter & May holidays.
Will my child feel awkward?

How long are sessions?
1 hour weekly during term time. GCSE workshops in school holidays are up to 6 hours.
Do you offer 1:1 or Online tuition?
